I ended up having to skim some of this because you really sold me on rituals, which I haven't seen, but I like what you get into at the end--shonen series doing a timeskip isn't super unusual but it's usually not a significant amount of time. I would love to see something like this too, the past coming back to haunt you when you were an anime high schooler, what way will the tropes of that genre be subverted because of life changes, etc, it's a really cool concept.

And I've been wanting to actually read the yugioh manga recently, this is another good reminder.
